A penalty shot will be added against the team, to be taken by the opposing team once regulation time has ended. 5 on 5 play will continue with the team whose half was closest to the infraction doing a 'take-in' See: Section C.1. After regulation time, all penalty shots accumulated throughout the game will take place. Penalty shots will be added to the final regulation score. If the penalty shot results in a tie game, a shootout will commence. Unlike shootouts, any player on the team may take any penalty shot, including multiple attempts by the same individual, in the case of more than one penalty shot be awarded to the same team, in a single game.
E.1.2 This is a non-contact league. Aggressive penalties are subject to a yellow card. Although a strike system is in place, aggressive penalties could warrant immediate removal from the game/league. All penalties are at the referee's discretion and are final. All expulsions are at the discretion of the operator. Please re-read section A.2. And specifically, rule A.2.8.
E.1.3 It is important at all times to minimize contact whenever possible. Any player forcing unnecessary contact will be penalized and/or yellow carded. Contact is sometimes unavoidable, and with a conscious effort to 'play the puck' rather than 'play the body', no player shall be penalized for incidental contact.
E.1.4. Delay of game penalties. If a player clears the puck over any bench, clears or makes contact with the mezzanine, and is in their defensive zone, that is a stoppage in play. A puck must be a clean clear in order for it to qualify for a penalty. Any player deemed to deliberately clear the puck into a dead zone could be penalized a delay-of-game penalty, under the referee's discretion.
E.1.4.1 Delay of game penalty will be assessed to any player who deliberately takes the puck to the wall, or any other attempt to waste the final minute of play. This will be called instantly, a penalty will be assessed, and the clock will be reset to 1 minute.
